my oh my it’s been a while. lets see…

well, i sort of have an excuse, we went away to the beach for a few days, and as i was packing up my shit- i put my lappy in to my lappy backpack and promptly forgot to zipper up the pouch, and the lappy took a tumble. i’m sure some you will remember my great hard drive crash of 2006, and you can rest assured that was the first think that went through my mind as well. well actually the HD slide out a bit from the frame. I wonder if that helped to distribute the force of the impact–the down side was the spacebar (wtf?) popped off and would not go back on. forgive me but i thought you all could go a few days with out a post rather than having to read somethinglikethisforpagesandpages.

right so we went on vacation-up to the ocean resorts of md’s eastershore/deleware. natty orchastrated the whole affair. our main base was bethany beach, but we made sorties to rehobeth and the mythical ocean city.

we got out of the house way late, but whatever. we got caught in an hour of fun leading up to the famed bay bridge. once over on the other side, things went smoothly and quickly. it was a beautiful day for the beach, too bad we go there at 7:30 pm. oh well.

our hotel was right right right on the boardwalk, and was a slice right out of 1968 .the room had wood paneling, and a picture on the wall that i swear was the one that drove barton fink insane (100 points for barton fink reference). but the location and the fact it had parking could not be beat.

we headed to the boardwalk and the beach-the capt was take a bit back by the magnitude of the mighty atlantic. but he adjusted pretty quickly. well then we tried to take him near the water and he freaked. that was pretty much that for the whole weekend–not a fan of the water. oh well.

it’s been over a week now i can’t really conjure up the play by play, but here are some highlights:

  • we seem to be freaks in terms of our age and having a 2 yr old. i saw really old doods (with wife number 2 or 3?) with kids, or people in their early 20′s. i dunno it was weird.
  • i was underwhelmed by dogfishhead‘s brew pub. mostly that their growlers are fucking expensive. but i got one of 120 min ipa anyway.
  • seems that when you’re at a beach town that has a rep for its gay population, you shouldn’t dine out after 8 pm, b/c those man/man couples don’t like 2 yrs-man did we get some dirtly looks from some well manicured eyebrows.
  • OC is a pit, plain and simple. loud obnoxious and terrible. ACW captured it very very well. however we ended up getting a fucking great brick oven at a resturant in a ho-jo’s no i’m not kidding.
  • it seems the russian mob has taken over the beaches of MD/DE-every where we went the staff was ruskies, or ukies, or romanie’s or eastern block population-i thought i was back on coney island or something.
  • the weather was pretty damn crappy, it was pretty much cool and raining most of the time, except for 5 hours one day, and the when we decided to go to OC–then it was a million degress and humid.
  • nevertheless i manged to sunburn one half of my chest and most of my stomach–why? oh i spent a lot of time sliming up the capt’ with sunscreen, me? oh i forgot about me.
  • funnel cake has officially be put on the list of things i will want everytime i see them, then i will get them, and will be diasspointed and mildy disguested by them and vow not to eat them again-other examples: fried chicken, Guinness (yes even on draft), bugles (orignial and ranch) and all manners of donuts.
  • right.

so that’s that. we got back and dove right back in to work. last weekend i didn’t do much. and now you’re caught up.

i’ll post more as it comes back to me.

Wow. Didn’t know they had a 120min IPA. Is it any good?

Apparently OC has a student-worker exchange program, thus the eastern Europeans. The place used to be packed to the gills with young, hot Irish women. I long for those days.

Also, the ho-jo pizza place is a 10-second walk from where my family usually stays. And the pizza is indeed good.
