first off, let me shake my fist at interweb gods in the ether of the wifi cosmos–just a week after i finally get wordpress upgraded, they release an upgrade. perfect. fuckers.
so anyway, i crossed the threshold in to my mid 30′s on saturday, and well, i’m pretty blah about it all. i’m in the gray zone where birthdays are no longer any fun really, nor are they something i dread. well it was fun, but they’re not something to get all excited about. in the end we threw a little bbq with our neighbors and jono, and i get pretty rip roaring drunk. as near as i can tell i kept my pants on the whole time, and natty is still speaking to me, so i guess it went pretty well.
sunday, of course was mother’s day, it seems that that damn hallmark holiday always eclipses my big day, but what can you do. the capt made reservations at the bistro we tend to go to for all our family events. there’s not much to tell really, other than it was crowded, full of kids, the capt didn’t want to sit still, and we were seated next to what was perhaps the most perfect young republican family in the entire universe. the husband, who looked like a blond steven colbert seemed completely detached from the family. the mother, in her fancy pants flower dress, spent most of the evening scolding their 2 daughters, i’d guess they were about 7 and 9 yrs old. they had a 2 and a half yr old, named henry, that sat in his high chair, for the most part quietly, and neglected. we ended up entertaining him more than his family. the food was salty. and err, that was that.
other than that, life jsut keeps movin. my commute has blurred into one big train ride. it actually seems pretty quick now. life at the DFTU client is chaotic and they seem to keep extending my contract, or something, i’m about to start reporting ot another person in another department, so that could either be no big deal, be better, or suck ass. so that’s something.
err. ok, that’s it for know kids.

Aww, crap–sorry I missed it. Happy belated, and welcome to the mid-30s. Next year will be my first year in the late 30s, if that helps you feel any better. And screw WordPress for trying to make you feel bad. You wrote, we read, job done.

Must webreak it up into early, mid, and late. I was just sticking with 30′s as a general thing. If that’s the case, then my early 30′s will be over soon. I wan’t prepared to feel dread until 40, but mid 30′s might do the trick. I can say that I don’t feel anywhere near as old as the people in thirtysomething (cue…accoustic guitar plucking).
