ah, spring in bawlmer. was almost 80 last week, is 30 something today, with flurries expected. apparently there’s a ‘freeze warning’ and ‘freeze watch’ not sure what they’re warning about. i mean ok sure, if you have flowers, you should bring them inside, but really, come on now, is a full blown weather service bulletin necessary for that? perhaps i’m missing something.
so as i left the house this morning, i got the the street and promptly noticed that our little bunny friend that ranges around our yard and a couple others, was in the gutter, with various innards beside him, head cocked one way, legs the other. i’m not sure how he was run over right next to the curb like that, but man it makes me sad. the captain is a big fan of the bunny, and i can only assume he/she had a burrow somewhere in our yard b/c he was by the porch an awful lot. so i dunno if that means there are little baby bunnies what are now orphaned.
perhaps more importantly i guess this means i’m not going to be getting any cadbury eggs on sunday, as our local distributor is now dead. that’s a kick in the pants. i wonder if the bunny union has temp workers to fill in for these type of situations. one can only hope.
net-net: i submitted a ‘pick up a dead animal’ request through the city’s slick web based request system. i knock b-more for alot of shit, but i have to say this city stat thing that o’malley put in is pretty cool . hopefully the carcass will be removed before the capt can see it. all we need is a jim morrison childhood memory to create our own lizard king. (ok dead rabbit is not the same as a car crash of native americans–but work with me here).
other than that, i’m alright, how are you? been working the commuting grind and such, nothing very exciting…. you?
