where was i? oh yeah the couple fighting.

so it was great fun to follow them around the store as they fought, something about how he didn’t actually say that they were going to the store and she didnt’ say that she didn’t want to go to the store. it was so loud and so dramatic that i really thought they were actors practicing a scene. they were almost running around the store, so it was sorta hard to keep up with the capt in the stroller and all, and not be right on top of them totally listening. eventually natty got out of the bathroom and we headed back over to the mattress section.

I noticed joe was helping someone in the microwaves section so i thought we were in the clear, but as natty mentioned, this other guy, this one with a cane came up to us. he did a semi hard sell, and when we told him we were going to be looking for a bit, he backed off, but made damn sure that we knew his name, Mendes (wasn’t that the name of the kids that killed their parents?). he said it over and over, made jokes about it , and said it again. but he was good, seemed to know his shit, and wasn’t trying to stear us toward the pricey beds either. so i guess the big trend now in mattress technology are these pillow euro topped mattresses. it seems they take a big pillow and staple it to the top of the mattress, so it’s a mattress on a mattress, i guess. well anyway i dont like’m, and natty hated them, so that narrowed our choices right there.  so inspite of the tiny little bedding section in the store, they seemed to have all of the models from on line there, just in what looked like smaller than twin sized floor models.

so we played the goldilocks game (this is too soft, this is too firm…eww) and actually liked a mattress that wasn’t half off, but only 10% off, so it cost the same as the half off ones, but only after they were half off? get it? so i asked mendez or mendes or whatever, "shouldn’t i want that one, since it’s half off and there fore costs more normally, so its better?" i just lobbed it up there for him to spike home or something. ‘why yes you want the other one that is normally 2k" but instead he says "that starting price is retail, you don’t know if anyone has ever actually paid that for the mattress. " i’m not sure what his point was, but it worked. so we took the one that was only 10% off, and yes we got the matching box spring, i know they say you don’t need to blah blah blah, but i’m telling you people, when i try to cut corners it always bites me in the ass. this is a proven fact. 

then i noticed that the fighting couple were sealing a deal on some sort of oven or stove or something. it was odd b/c they were soo friendly with the sales staff, it was almost like they worked there- then the chick came and sat on our would be new bed, as if she was on a break–you think teh sears corp hires actors to liven up the shopping experience? the whole thing was really odd, i felt like i was in the jefke show or  something.  so now the real fun began, the check out process. so first menny had to get all the "proper codes", that took 5 mins, then we had to find an open register for him to enter everything, that took 5 mins to locate adn then 5 mins to hobble over there. then he needed to get the free bed frame barcode (5mins) then we actually did the transaction. i will say this, he was pretty good with the computer, i guess that’s ageist of me.  so boom then we were done. it’s coming today between 3:30 and 5:30. this means i need to 1) clean up all my dirty laundry in the bedroom, 2) get out all the stuff from under the current bed (i have no idea what’s under there) and i guess move shit around so the delievery guys can actually get up the stairs, good times.
