so i only have 1 contact online in trillian…is someone standing on the IM hose? weird.
so to wrap up the trip entry, i drove to the airport, tried to fill up the hyndieianedaa, well i filled it up eventurally, just seems that their gas tank makes the gas pump think it’s full, when it’s not–so it keeps shutting off. it was annoying.
i dropped off the car at hertz and got the shuttle to the airport, all ready for the wall of humanity, the pushing the shoving the sweet putrid smell of old people travelling in jogging suits…and…it wasn’t crowded. i walked right up to check my bag, and pretty much got right up to the security gate to get real gates. that left me with about an hour and a half to, er, ‘work’ at the bar. i called co-worker/exmanager jimmy to kill the time whilist i drank fosters on tap. the bartender lady seemed annoyed that i was on the phone, then i looked around and saw 5 other people sitting, on the phone…so i said fuck it, and took it out of her tip–yeah i’m malicious like that.
the flight was ppppacked, and i naturally didn’t get an upgrade, though the guy at the counter did say iwas "next on the list" which, though prolly a lie, did a great job of making me feel cool.
my driver was a younger guy, who kept calling me Mr. XXXX and sir all the time. it was a bit freaky.
he wasn’t too big on the conversation, so maybe it was the beers, or the other drivers i’ve had, but i actually engaged him in conversation, yeah, i know, out of character for me. I started with the weather, then tried to get some dirt on his other clients for the day (i was only his second job, so nothing there)…all in all it was an ok ride.
Saturday, i got up and tended to the lawn, which was about waste high. i also put down some weed and feed, and it then promptly stormed, with i’m sure washed it all away, oh well.
we took henry up to mt. kitchen for a bbq at ex coworker don’s. henry absoulutely loves it up there, they have an acre for him to run around and spaz out on. he ran himself ragged chasing birds and stuff. it’s fun to watch him go at full speed. the bbq was good, don was breaking in his new weber–jesus, what the hell am i talking about—suburban bbq’s and gas grills, dog running in yards…jesus, what’s happened to me.
sunday was spent not doing much and hanging some pictures around the house. it’s werid to hae stuff on the walls, we haven’t hung anything since we lived in brooklyn i don’t think…very strange.
and then yesterday, my big day off we…..went to ikea to see if they had any outdoor furniture. oddly enough it was empty in there, and not a very bad or expensive trip. just goes to show–you never knwo where the crowds are. then we came home, went to dinner with natty’s mom at an irish pub and i crashed out…got up a bit early this morning and boom here we are.
what’d you do this weekend?

What did I do this weekend?
Sat - Swam for an hour, ran for 1.5 hours. Went home, took a nap for an hour. Walked the dogs (a couple of times). Dee got home from work and we went to see Star Wars III (which was quite good! I liked your review Jeff).
Sun - Rode my bike for ~2.5 hours. Came home. Napped for 30 min. Walked the dogs. Repeated the dog walking. Hung out with Dee for a low-key night. Watched “weird science”. Forgot what a bad 80s movie that was.
Mon - I love mondays off. We should do this all the time. Rode my bike for an hour. Mowed the lawn. Made some chili and guacamole. Just lazed around the rest of the time.
So there was my long weekend in a nutshell. Not too exciting.
