Oh, Hooray!! It’s about time. Smoking is gross and makes people stink. Although, this may mean that jefke will spend even more money on booze. Of course, once his baby is born, he won’t have any time to go out, so I guess I don’t have to worry too much.
It took a while to get used to it here in CA, but in much the same way that it takes some time to get used to, say, having a threeway when you’re used to being alone. SO much better for everyone, including waitstaff, since smokers take twice as long to eat and tip half as much.
Why not ban drinking too? It’s just as or maybe even more dangerous. People are out at the restaurants/bars getting all loaded and leaving at the same time as you, driving on the same roads as you.
How many people a year do you think are killed from smoking drivers compared to drunk drivers? Why even serve booze where you know people are driving there?
Not that I am single anymore, but on the one hand, it was always easy to turn a guy down with the line, Sorry, I don’t date guys who smoke.” Hmm, but then I ended up with Don, who smoked back in the day.
Guess I think it’s a good idea. The stench of smoke in your hair always comes back the next morning and makes a hangover 10 times worse, too. F the smokers - ban it everywhere!
If you don’t like the smoke, stay home! Smokers have rights too. Why don’t you bitch about all the pollution that goes into your body while walking around Baltimore? The fucking busses seem to stink things up 10x more than a damn cig.
Jeez Don, you sure are pro-black lungs for someone who does not smoke. The point about rights is that smokers are polluting public places- they are endagering the health of others, impinging on the right to breath clean air. The comparison of one cigarette to bus exhaust is off, because the problems of smoky bars is from many, many cigarettes. Additionally, we already know that cigarette smoke has killed non-smokers via second hand smoke (bar and restaurant workers, airline staff, etc.). I feel that if you want to be the tobacco companies’ bitch, that’s your business and you’re an idiot, but don’t make the rest of us suffer in stinkiness.
Don, I don’t mean that you’re their bitch. You don’t smoke. I just mean that if people keep buying their products and slowly killing themselves with it (and making big tobacco very rich), that’s silly. I know it’s hard, but just quit already (and yes, I used to smoke, so I know what it’s like to quit- not easy, but if you want it enough, you can do it and become an anti-smoking nazi like me).
It is about time! How much longer do we all need to endure the detrimental health effects that second-hand smoke is imposing on us? I hope that Baltimore has enough sense and dignity to join the hundreds of countries/states/cities/towns that have already implemented a full smoking ban.

I’m going to find out where you work so that I can wait for you to go in and out of your office. When I see you going in and out I will follow you and blow smoke in your face the entire time.

Also, a funny thing I once heard- “Having a smoking section in a restaurant is like having a peeing section in a pool.”
