greetings kids, and happy halloween–yet again–
i can’t believe it’s another halloween…it also seems to be something of an anniversary for jefke.com…though i know i have posts from before 10/31/2001, i can’t find them, so you’ll notice that the archives go allllll the way back to there. 3 years, wow.
it is also our 1 year anniversary at the fort. well not exactly, we closed and did our walk through on halloween, we didn’t move in till the seventh or something, i can’t remember exactly. I’m gonna try to set up a “before/after 1 year” gallery. we’ll see how far i get on that.

not much new here. it was a quite first week at the new job. there was something of a mix up about getting my a computer, and since all the shit i will be doing requires a computer–well it was sorta hard to do anything. oh sure i could have just installed all the crazy stuff on my super lappy–but i’m really trying to keep work and home life seperate–but who knows. I did receive my laptop yesterday-it’s sort of amusing…when i was working at the new media internet research company, i saw one of the consulatants from the company where i am currently working with a super cool mini dell laptop–i remember saying to co-worker cam “wow, her laptop is super cool, look at us with these crappy ones”. well careful what you wish for, b/c lo and behold, yesterday–4 years later, her laptop arrived at my door. and it is still super cool, i mean it weighs like 3 pounds or something, and if fits in your back pocket.
now i’m not the biggest tech snob around, but i do have some self respect. this puppy’s running a whopping 128 mgs of ram and has a super huge hard drive with a whopping 5 gigs of space. oh sure it would do everything i need it to do (well except get on my wireless network, as win2k doesnt’ really do that WPA thing)–and sure, beggers can’t be choosers. but i mean, come on. 4 years in computer years is like 33 human years.–alas i guess i should be happy they even tried and just tell them i’ll use the superlappy. ho hum.
tomorrow i’m off on the amtrak to go up to nyc for a company wide meeting. should be interesting. the scary thing is the meeting site is only about 1 block from 48th street custom guitars…and they usually stock at least 1 lefty g&L ASAT…hmm. home equity loan goes through on tuesday…jefke’s dream guitar of over 10 years….hmmm . i’ll have ot stop by manny’s and shit. back in high school a few friends and i used to do these day trips in to the city. first up to the music district on 48th and then down ot the village to go ‘record’ shopping. it’s funny to think back what a big deal it was: put money in shoe in case of mugging, check the train schedule 90 times. should we take a cab or bus downtown–never take the subway–EVIL is the subway. it’s weird to think that after all that, i lived there and have moved away and am coming back. i dunno, it’s just funny. oh i dont’ expect you to understand….jerks.
