good question,
busy, that’s where, it’s just north of bored and south of stressed out. a bit east of working hard, and south southwest of wasting time.
work has been a bit busy, and i’m working on an outside project which in the surface looked like it wouldn’t take much time at all…but in reality it’s taking a fair amount…so i’m sure you’re dying to know what’s been going on..
well, actually not all that much. natty called this morning to inform me that henry finally caught a bird. i’m sorta surprised, but i suppose it had to happen sometime, every dog has it’s day and shit. apparently he got a black bird under the cherry tree. take this broken neck and learn to fly…all his 3 weeks with us, henry’s been waiting for this moment to arrive….
apparenlty the maestro say the whole thing occur. i guess natty ran up to henry and he seemed to instictively release the bird–so maybe he’s hunted in the past afterall. They then put the bird in the maestro’s yard to see if it was just in shock and if it would recover. ….cool huh.
ok lunch time. more later.

I thought hunting dogs just found the prey and pointed to it, or brought it back after it was pumped full of lead. Henry must think you guys suck as hunters, so now he has to do all the work and catch them live for you.
So, did that broken necked blackbird recover?

I don’t think it recovered. Our neighbor said that we could leave it in his yard, so that Henry couldn’t get to it, thinking the bird may be in shock and fly away. I told him I’d take care of getting rid of the bird later if it died, but when I got home, both the bird and the bag were gone. I feel bad that he likely cleaned it up. I would have done so. In other news, I ran into Muffy from my high school at Baby Gap today. I just thought I’d mention that since it’s not everyday that you can say that you ran into Muffy. I don’t think she was terrible anxious to talk to me. Oh well. And in yet other news, Jefke forgot to mention that I had to do post mortem care in the ICU last night. In fact, I don’t think he’s ever said anything about my hospital work. Bastard!

Did you get to meet Quincy?

Nope, no medical examiner around. Just the chilled room- it was after regular hours.

it’s not that i don’t care, i just get hazy about the stories when you come in after i’ve been asleep for 2 hrs and you tell me about how you pulled all the tubes out of an over weight dead lady. i’m lucky i didn’t have nightmares after that.

and on the quincy topic, i love quincy, great show. perhaps one of the best opening sequences in television history. if i had a nickle for everytime i have refered to the scenes where he pulls back the sheet covering the dead body and all the new cops pass out, i’d have at least a dollar. funny how dr. quincy didn’t check to see if anyof the cadet cracked their skulls open or anything, though i suppose he’d only really know what to do after they bled to death.
the show had one of the best annoying bosses (that guy with the moustach) and totally reenforced the intelligent asian sidekick that will never be promoted even though klugman never actualy does his job b/c he’s out getting shot at or boozing at that nautical themed dive bar.
and how the hell was 60 year old quincy skamming so much california-beach-roller-disco tail?

I was buying a gift for my friend Silvia who just had a baby boy. By the way, he is an absolutely beautiful baby. Congratulations to Bryn and Silvia! Don’t worry Jenni, if I were that close to needing supplies from Baby Gap, I’m sure there would be many, many posts from a totally panicked Jefke trailing over months. Although I must say he’s handled the addition of a dog very well. I have heard relatively little bitterness about it, though just about every positive comment from him about Henry is followed up with some sort of negative (”It’s a lot of work,” and that kind of thing). He’s staying true to Jefke form.
