This is sorta house related, but not at the same time…
So one of the houses next to us is/has been on the market, and well they couple that occupy the house, well lets just say they’re very old school ballymore. Over the last couple weeks, we’ve had very little interaction with them, though there was the one time when the male part of the couple could not park his big red pickup truck directly in front of his house, so he sat in it, honking, as if that would some how magically make ‘his’ spot open up. Finally he parked a full 10 feet up the road, and then got out of the truck and said, quite loudly, that someone had taken his spot… After that, i have referred to him as “Fat fuck with Red Truck” (FFRT).
The other nite, i was changing a light bulb on our porch and was witness to a potentially COPS-esque scene, as the female and an some other male, left the house completely loaded, (it being 7:30 on a tuesday and all). from what i could gather they were going out to look for FFRT. They stumbled about 20 feet up the street and lo and behold, a car pulls up, and FFRT stumbles out. so the female and the other dood turn around and head back to the house….i was half expecting a huge blow out, but alas they all just went inside, well not until the thoughtfully placed their empty beer bottles on their porch for all to see. …
The female part of the couple never really acknowledged me in any sort of way, though she had said hello to natty a coupla times.
On friday there was a UHaul out front and they were loading up…at first, as i was unloading the last load of shit from teh apartment, no one said anything. then when natty got home, the female was loading stuff, and she and natty started talking. much to my chagrin, she was very friendly, she wished us luck in our new home and mentioned that we’d be very happy there, etc. Natty introduced herself and the female reciprocated…her call sign: “billie joe”. So they packed up more over the weekend, I assume they’re not done as there is stuff allover the yard…
The new neighbor moves in sometime after the 25th…he now is the great unknown–will he be nice–loud? young? old? old school or part of the yuppie invasion?
only time will tell.
