So i go the the barbershop in the strip mall where i am currently temporarily employed, i wait my turn behind the 6 3rd graders that are getting their haircuts. As I listen to the owner talk about deep sea fishing and skeet shooting with a client, i realize that i may be in over my head on this one. When it is my turn, I go up and prepare to explain what i’d like to accomplish with this haircut, to my barber. When he asks ‘what it’ll be’ i tell him that i’m looking to grow my hair out a bit, seeing as i’ve had the same short on the sides-stick-it-up-on-the-top cut since i shaved off my long hair in 1996. As he tries to wet my head with his spray bottle he remarks, “well there’s not much i can do with this.” wow, what a kiss on the cheek. Together we decided that for the next 3 months or so, i will be using about a tube of gel per week to hold down the fledgling curls until they have enough length to develop into the greg brady hair i’m after. at the end of the session, the man said “sorry, you’ll just have to have some patience on this one.”
